Sure Flap is making a line of products connected to pets and is putting out an app-enabled pet door for cats and small dogs. It is called the Microchip Pet Door Connect. Next time your cat/dog comes in from the outside you get a notification on your smartphone.
Besides letting you know when your pet comes and goes, this device can lock or unlock the pet door. You can create a curfew for your dog/cat, and protect your home from strays or neighborhood cats/dogs. Why can't you just use a normal pet door? For example, say a giant thunderstorm is heading towards your house but you're not home. You wish you could lock the pet door, right? Well with the Microchip Pet Door Connect you can do that just using an app from your phone. Now you're pet is safe.
