Usually private launch facilities don’t launch a rocket. They may help come up with the idea or build the rocket, but they don’t launch the rocket itself, unlike the Rocket Lab. This facility is planning to launch an electron rocket that will find information from near the Earth’s surface. It has 3D printed material and can carry over 329 pounds of cargo. They will be testing and fixing the rocket and will be launching it anywhere from May 21st 2017 to 10 days afterwards.
I thought this information was interesting because this rocket was the first ever rocket that will be launched from a private facility. This could be a good or bad thing in the future because if too many companies make rockets and launch them, they may run into each other in space and create an explosion or something bad. Although this could happen, this rocket facility is the first to launch from a private facility so there isn’t much worry for too much “rocket traffic”.

Did the rocket launch yesterday?
ReplyDeleteNo, they delayed the launch due to bad weather.
